1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant Needed in Nursery/ Reception in Tooting

Location: Tooting, South West LondonStart Date: 1st June 2026Contract: Full-Time Long-Term (through academic year)

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Tooting is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child with Down syndrome currently in Nursery.

This is a fantastic opportunity to provide consistent, long-term support, helping the child transition smoothly from Nursery into Reception across the next academic year.

About the Role

You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCo and wider support staff to provide tailored 1:1 support throughout the school day. The focus will be on supporting the child's learning, communication, and social development within a nurturing and structured environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing consistent 1:1 support within the Nursery setting • Supporting communication, interaction and engagement in activities • Helping the pupil access the EYFS curriculum • Encouraging independence and positive social development • Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCo and external professionals • Supporting transitions into Reception across the next academic year
