SEN Class Teacher - Secondary (Complex Autism & SLD/PMLD) - Chichester

About the School
This specialist SEN school in Chichester provides a highly nurturing, inclusive environment for pupils aged 2-19 with severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and a significant number of learners with complex autism.
The school is now seeking a dedicated SEN Class Teacher to join their secondary department, teaching learners with complex autism and a wide range of additional needs.
About the Role
The teacher will deliver a highly adapted secondary curriculum designed for pupils with complex autism, SLD and PMLD, ensuring learning is accessible, engaging and rooted in each pupil's EHCP outcomes. You will plan and deliver a progressive, personalised curriculum that supports communication, sensory regulation, independence and preparation for adulthood.
You will:
- Deliver high-quality, individualised teaching to secondary-aged pupils with complex autism, SLD and PMLD
- Plan and deliver a multi-sensory, engaging curriculum aligned with pupils' EHCP outcomes and developmental needs
- Create and adapt resources to support communication, sensory processing, accessibility and meaningful engagement
- Foster emotional regulation, social development and wellbeing through consistent routines and nurturing relationships
- Work collaboratively with therapists, behaviour specialists, support staff and families to provide coordinated, holistic support
- Promote independence, communication and resilience through highly differentiated teaching approaches

Contract: Full-time, permanent
Hours: Monday-Friday, 08:00-16:00
Pay: MPR/UPR + SEN Allowance
Requirements
You must:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching pupils with SEND, ideally autism, SLD or PMLD (mainstream experience also welcomed)
- Have the Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child-barred list DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply)
- Provide professional references covering the last 24 months
