Location: Yetminster, Dorset Pay: £14.25-£15.10 per hour Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm Start Date: September
Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity to provide dedicated one-to-one support for a child with Special Educational Needs? Axcis Education is recruiting a caring and committed 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Yetminster. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with one pupil, helping them overcome barriers to learning while building confidence, independence and positive relationships within the classroom. If you have experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or SEND Teaching Assistant, and enjoy making a meaningful difference to children's lives, we would love to hear from you.
As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:- Provide dedicated one-to-one support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
- Adapt learning activities to meet the child's individual needs and learning style
- Support children with Autism (ASC), ADHD, communication needs or other additional learning needs
- Encourage independence, confidence and active participation in classroom activities
- Work alongside the class teacher and SENCo to deliver personalised learning plans
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing using consistent support strategies
- Help develop social, communication and interaction skills
- Monitor progress and contribute to pupil reviews and support plans
- Create a calm, nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every child can succeed
- Has previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role
- Has experience supporting children with SEND within a primary school or educational setting
- Is patient, compassionate and adaptable
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Can build positive, trusting relationships with children, staff and parents
- Works confidently both independently and as part of a team
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
- Experience supporting children with Autism (ASC), ADHD or speech and language needs
- Knowledge of positive behaviour support strategies
