SEMH Teaching Assistant (Sport Background)

Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant (Sport Background)

Location: Dinnington

Pay rate: £105-£115 per day (Depending on experience)

Start Date: Immediate

Contract type: Day-to-day / Long-term, Full-time / Part-time

Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs.
  • Use sports-based activities to engage students and promote positive behaviour.
  • Support behaviour management and implement de escalation strategies.
  • Encourage teamwork, resilience, and emotional regulation.
  • Assist in delivering structured lessons and physical activities.
  • Work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to support individual needs.
Qualifications
  • Background in sports coaching, fitness, or physical education.
  • Experience working with young people, ideally with SEMH or behavioural needs.
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
  • Energetic, patient, and resilient approach.
  • Ability to build positive relationships and motivate students.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
