I am working with a supportive, nurturing school looking for an SEMH Teaching Assistant in East London who brings patience, resilience, and genuine care into the classroom every single day.

What you'll be doingYou'll be supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them access learning in a way that works for them.
That might look like:
- Building strong, consistent relationships that help pupils feel safe and understood
- Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
- Helping pupils re engage with learning at their own pace
- Working closely with teachers, pastoral teams, and support staff
- Creating a structured, calm, and supportive environment where pupils can thrive

What we're looking for- Experience supporting SEMH, SEND, or challenging behaviour is ideal
- A calm, resilient approach and a good sense of humour
- Someone who's patient, consistent, and genuinely invested
- Confidence managing behaviour in a positive, proactive way
- A willingness to learn, adapt, and grow
Bonus points if you're familiar with behaviour strategies, trauma informed approaches, or restorative practices, but don't worry if not, full support and training will be provided.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
