Kirkgunzeon, near Dumfries 3 days per week Long-term regular work
We are looking for a reliable, experienced and practical self-employed agricultural contractor to work approximately three days per week on a long-term, ongoing basis on a mixed farm near Kirkgunzeon.
The farm includes free-range hens, sheep, renewable energy, Christmas trees and farm/property interests.
This is NOT a livestock position. The role is primarily tractor work and general farm, estate and property maintenance.
The work will include:
- Tractor driving and general tractor work
- General farm maintenance
- Fencing, gates and repairs
- Maintenance of farm buildings and property
- Grounds and estate maintenance
- Basic machinery and equipment maintenance
- General outdoor repairs and upkeep
- A variety of practical jobs around the farm and property
The work is varied and would suit someone who is practical, experienced and able to work independently, with the ability to turn their hand to different jobs.
We would particularly welcome enquiries from:
- Agricultural contractors looking for regular additional work
- Self-employed farmers or agricultural workers with spare capacity
- Experienced retired or semi-retired farmers
- Experienced tractor operators with good general maintenance skills
- Someone with an agricultural, machinery, fencing or rural property-maintenance background
Self-employed basis - approximately 3 days per week.
Good tractor-driving experience is essential. Own tools and transport would be advantageous.
Reliability, common sense and a practical "can-do" attitude are more important than formal qualifications.
