The opportunity:

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Security Project Manager within our Future Combat Air (FCA) team. This role covers all project security aspects for the Portfolio Management Office (PMO), and you will be the focal point for all security-related matters, supporting multiple programme areas. We are looking for a well-organized, strong communicator to work in a highly collaborative environment with good knowledge of defence security processes.

What you'll do as a Security Project Manager:

  1. You will work closely with Site Security, Security Specialists, and Project and Programme Managers to develop into a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and provide guidance to the Integrated Project Team (IPT) for classification of data.
  2. Support and manage the community of Security Subject Matter Experts in a coordinated way.
  3. Coordinate Security compliance and guidance to the portfolio of programmes.
  4. Coordinate activities related to Security Grading Guide (SGG), Security Aspects Letters (SAL), and accreditation of suppliers.
  5. Maintain and manage security clearances, including security briefing and read-ons processes for new team members.
  6. Manage, administer, and control access to project shared areas.
  7. Ensure correct security clearance and adherence to nationality processes.
  8. Manage travel controls and visitor request procedures.
  9. Support Risk Managers to identify Security risks and manage mitigation actions.
  10. Manage secure facilities and hardware responsibilities and processes.
  11. Become the SME for guidance on UKEO material handling within a multi-national team environment.
  12. Document portfolio compliance processes.
  13. Coordinate cross-site portfolio security requirements.
  14. Attend relevant IPT meetings to provide guidance on security matters.

What we need from you:

  1. Previous experience in the defence industry or armed forces is preferred.
  2. Experience working with HMG classified material at various levels.
  3. Strong understanding of defence security processes.
  4. Degree qualified in a technical field (e.g., engineering, science) or equivalent practical experience; relevant experience is also valued.
  5. Pro-active, dynamic individual capable of working collaboratively and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships at all levels.
  6. Excellent organizational skills and strong communication abilities with self-management skills.
