Job Description
Security Assurance Manager - AWE / Mitie Job Objectives 
- Act as a trusted advisor to the Head of Security and wider Mitie Management team, serving as a subject matter expert (SME) in holistic protective security and security auditing.
- Lead and deliver continuous improvement programmes, ensuring alignment between Mitie, the client, and service partners.
- Build, maintain, and actively leverage strong networks and partnerships, creating effective conduits for collaborative working.
- Drive a strong security culture across the contract.
- Develop and deliver a comprehensive security audit framework in collaboration with AWE Security.
- Conduct physical security risk assessments and vulnerability reviews.
- Provide SME advice to inform training requirements for security personnel and support the planning and execution of scenario training exercises.
- Conduct incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement lessons learnt to prevent recurrence.
- Drive a structured evaluation and continuous improvement cycle for security performance and assurance.
- Develop and maintain security strategies, policies, and procedures in direct support of client requirements.
- Provide expert input into security planning for known future events and emerging or evolving threat landscapes.
- Produce high-quality reports, briefings, and presentations as requested by the Head of Security.
- Supporting the Head of Security, act as a central security conduit for collaboration between Mitie, AWE, and third-party service partners.
- Build and sustain strong relationships across the Assurance Manager community and wider security industry to exchange best practice.
- Support client confidence through professional engagement, transparency, and evidence-led assurance.
- Maintain a strong and current working knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and security initiatives.
- Ensure assurance activities align with regulatory expectations and recognised good practice.
- (Desirable) Minimum 5 years' experience in security management or protective security roles.
- Proven capability in security assurance design, development, and delivery across complex environments.
- Demonstrable experience delivering standards auditing, operational readiness testing, and exercise management.
- Recognised expert in team training, coaching and mentoring.
- Strong ability to conceptualise, develop, implement, and sustain improvement plans.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage senior stakeholders.
- Highly collaborative, proactive, and outcome-focused.
- Competent with full MS Suite, with experience with SharePoint and PowerBI highly desirable.
- Applicants will be required to achieve security vetting through UKSV.
