Job Description

We are currently recruiting a Supply Teacher to work closely with our Secondary Schools across Solihull and the surrounding areas. We are seeking a Teacher with QTS who is open to delivering lessons across a range of subjects, regardless of their own subject specialism.

As a Supply Teacher working for Flourish Education, you can teach whilst maintaining a great work life balance. Day to day supply allows you to fit your work around your other commitments, and in addition, there is no requirement to take on planning and preparation responsibilities while still getting the opportunity to do what you love.

It is a great way for an experienced educator or an Early Careers Teacher (ECT) to experience working in a variety of different schools and provide support to those who need it.

As a Supply Teacher, you will be responsible for:
  • Delivering a pre planned lesson that has been left for you by the school.
  • Covering different subjects throughout the day.
  • Supporting different year groups throughout Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
  • Demonstrating strong behaviour management and classroom control in line with the school's own behaviour policy.
  • Supporting pupils' academic progress and individual needs.
Required Skills and Experience as a Supply Teacher:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working within a UK Secondary School
  • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum across KS3 and KS4.
  • Excellent subject knowledge across at least one specialism and willingness to excel in other specialists.
  • Optimism and a solution oriented approach to taking on a new classroom.
Working as a Secondary Supply Teacher for Flourish Education offers you other excellent benefits, including:
  • £130-£200 day rate, which can work out to approximately £25,350-£39,000 per annum based on working 5 days a week for a full school year (dependent on experience).
  • Holiday Pay - 12.07% of your day rate is accrued into your holiday pot.
  • Pension Contributions.
  • Free KCSIE compliant Safeguarding and Prevent Duty Training, inclusive of modules relating to legislation, FGM and abuse.
  • Refer a friend bonus scheme.
  • Regular contact throughout the registration process and once you are at work with a specialised consultant.

We work closely with schools across Solihull and the surrounding areas, such as Birmingham, Coventry, and Redditch. Most of the schools offer on site parking or nearby free parking.

If you are interested, apply now to become a Flexible Secondary Supply Teacher and take control of your teaching career. We look forward to hearing from you. Please contact Ellie at Flourish Education.
