About the role:

We are seeking a number of dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor/ unqualified teachers to work in secondary schools across Wigan This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to make a positive impact on students' education while gaining valuable experience in a school environment.

As a cover supervisor you will be responsible for supervising classes when teachers are absent, ensuring continuity of learning and maintaining a positive classroom environment. This role is deal for graduates, carer changers or those considering a future in teaching.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supervise classes across all key stages (KS3 and 4) in the absence of subject teachers
  • Deliver pre-planned lesson materials and ensure students remain on task
  • Promote positive behaviour
  • Support students with their learning
  • Take accurate registers and report concerns to relevant staff
  • Assist with general school duties as required
  • Adhere to school policies and procedures

Essential requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to engage students aged 11-16
  • Confident classroom presence
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Reliable and punctual with a professional attitude
  • Enhanced DBS or willing to obtain one
