Science Technician

Science Technician - Secondary School - Corby, Northamptonshire

Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full Time - Permanent preferred; fixed term and long term supply considered

As a Science Technician, you will support the delivery of practical Science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, helping to create a safe and effective learning environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Preparing equipment, materials, and resources for practical experiments
• Setting up and clearing away laboratory equipment safely and efficiently
• Maintaining laboratory stock, resources, and chemical inventories
• Ensuring laboratories remain clean, organised, and fully equipped
• Supporting teachers with practical demonstrations and investigations
• Carrying out routine maintenance and safety checks on equipment
• Assisting with risk assessments and ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures
• Ordering and monitoring laboratory supplies when required

You are a good fit if you:

• Have experience working in a laboratory, scientific, or educational environment
• Have strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
• Are confident working with scientific equipment and materials
• Have a good understanding of laboratory health and safety procedures
• Are proactive, reliable, and able to work independently and as part of a team
• Are enthusiastic about supporting Science education and student success
• Previous experience as a Science Technician is desirable but not essential. Candidates with Science qualifications, laboratory experience, or relevant transferable skills are encouraged to apply.
