About the Role

We're looking for a passionate and motivated Science Teacher to join our specialist education team, supporting students with autism, SEND and social, emotional and mental health needs.

This is an opportunity to step away from the pressures of large mainstream classes and rediscover the reasons you became a teacher. With small class sizes, extensive support and a student-centred approach, you'll have the time and flexibility to build meaningful relationships, tailor learning to individual needs and celebrate every success along the way.

As our Science Teacher, you'll inspire curiosity, confidence and a love of learning through engaging, practical lessons that help students achieve qualifications, develop life skills and realise their potential.

Whether you're an experienced SEND practitioner or a mainstream teacher looking for a more rewarding career path, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Deliver engaging and personalised Science lessons to small classes and individual students.
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet a range of learning, communication and emotional needs.
  • Monitor progress and support students to achieve meaningful academic and personal outcomes.
  • Develop individual learning and behaviour support strategies.
  • Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment where students can thrive.
  • Work closely with support staff, families and multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the best outcomes for every student.
  • Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing and safeguarding at all times.

What We're Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent desired.
  • A passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning.
  • Experience delivering engaging lessons and achieving positive outcomes.
  • The ability to build strong relationships and inspire confidence in students.
  • Adaptable, patient and resilient approach to teaching.
  • Strong communication, organisational and IT skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Experience working with students with SEND, autism or SEMH needs is desirable but not essential.
