Science Lead (SEN / SEMH)

Location: Mansfield

Contract: Full-time / Permanent Leadership Responsibility

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Science Lead to take ownership of Science provision within a specialist SEN setting in Mansfield, supporting pupils with SEMH needs and leading the development of the subject across the school.

The Role

As Science Lead, you will:

  • Lead and develop the Science curriculum across the provision
  • Teach Science across relevant key stages and abilities
  • Support and guide other staff delivering Science
  • Ensure curriculum content is accessible, engaging, and meaningful for SEN learners
  • Monitor progress and contribute to whole-school development

This is an exciting opportunity for a Science specialist ready to take on leadership responsibility within a supportive SEN environment.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Significant experience working with SEMH pupils (essential)
  • QTS/QTLS and a strong Science specialism
  • Experience teaching Science at KS3 and/or KS4
  • Leadership experience or readiness to step into a lead role
  • Strong behaviour and classroom management built on relationships
  • A trauma-informed and inclusive approach to education
