Are you an experienced education leader looking for an opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of young people with additional needs?
We are recruiting for a School Lead to oversee a specialist education site within an innovative independent school that supports children and young people aged 7-19 with SEND and complex needs. The organisation specialises in providing personalised learning pathways for learners who may have struggled in mainstream education, helping them re-engage with learning, achieve qualifications, and develop the skills needed for adulthood.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking provider whose ethos is centred around Trust, Innovation and Achievement, delivering tailored educational experiences that enable every learner to fulfil their potential.
The Role
As School Lead, you will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day leadership and operational management of your site, working closely with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure outstanding outcomes for learners.
You will:
- Lead the operational delivery of the site and act as the main point of contact for day-to-day management.
- Drive high standards of teaching, learning and pastoral support.
- Promote excellent behaviour, attendance and student engagement.
- Monitor learner achievement and use data to inform improvement strategies.
- Develop, motivate and support staff through effective leadership and performance management.
- Ensure personalised learning remains at the heart of curriculum delivery.
- Work collaboratively with families, local authorities and multi-agency professionals.
- Contribute to EHCP reviews, student progress meetings and reporting processes.
- Act as a Safeguarding Lead and champion a strong safeguarding culture across the site.
- Be a visible and positive presence for both staff and learners.
About You
We're looking for a passionate and resilient leader who can inspire others and create a positive, inclusive culture where young people can thrive.
You will have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Previous leadership experience within education.
- Experience working with learners with SEND, SEMH needs, or within alternative provision.
- A proven track record of improving behaviour, attendance and learner outcomes.
- Strong staff management and team leadership skills.
- Experience using data to monitor progress and drive school improvement.
- Excellent communication, organisational and relationship-building skills.
- A commitment to delivering personalised, learner-centred education.
Safeguarding
The successful applicant will be required to undertake enhanced safeguarding checks. The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.
If you're an ambitious education leader passionate about inclusive education and improving outcomes for young people with SEND, we'd love to hear from you.
