School Chefs - Bristol

Berkeley Scott is recruiting School Chefs for temporary assignments across Bristol and surrounding locations, with September starts available. These roles offer weekly pay and holiday pay, with rates up to £23.00 per hour depending on experience. An enhanced DBS is essential. Working in primary schools, secondary schools, academies and other educational settings, you will provide chef cover for holidays, sickness, vacancies and operational support.

What You'll Be Doing

• Preparing and serving nutritious meals for pupils and staff
• Supporting the day-to-day running of school kitchens
• Maintaining excellent food hygiene and health and safety standards
• Catering for allergens and special dietary requirements
• Assisting with stock control, food preparation and kitchen cleanliness

Essential Requirements

• Previous chef experience within schools, educational catering, care homes, contract catering or high volume kitchens
• Current Enhanced DBS Certificate
• Food Hygiene Level3 Certificate
• Strong understanding of allergens and special dietary requirements
• Reliable, professional and able to work independently

The Nature of the Work

These positions are offered on a temporary basis. Assignments may include covering staff holidays, annual leave, short and long term sickness absence, vacant positions, maternity, paternity and other planned leave, increased workload, seasonal demand, additional support during busy periods, events and school functions. Assignments can range from single day bookings to longer term placements lasting several weeks or months, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work across a variety of educational catering environments.
