School Catering Assistant - Term Time Only

Locations: DE21, DE22 and other areas of Derby (travel flexibility is a plus)

Monday to Friday (term time only)

Shifts usually: 10:00am - 2:00pm or 10:30am - 2:00pm

Pay: £12.71 per hour

Looking for flexible school hours work that fits around your life? We are recruiting School Catering Assistants for primary and secondary schools across Derby with a focus on DE21 and DE22. This is a great opportunity for those returning to work, managing family commitments, or seeking flexible part-time work during term time.

You will have the freedom to choose the shifts and school assignments that suit you, with opportunities across multiple sites.

DBS Requirement

To work in a school environment you need an Enhanced DBS. If you don't have one we can help you through the application process.

Your role will include:

• Assisting with the preparation and service of food and drinks
• Serving pupils and staff during lunch service
• Clearing, cleaning tables and dining areas
• Washing dishes and keeping kitchen areas clean and tidy
• Unpacking and storing deliveries
• Following food hygiene and health & safety standards
• Providing friendly, professional service in a school setting

What we're looking for:

• Food Hygiene Level 1 (dated within the last 12 months)
• Willingness to help with cleaning and general kitchen duties
• Good time management and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Clear communication skills
• Reliable, motivated, and hard working
• Previous catering experience is helpful but not essential
