About the role

This is a part time, permanent School Caretaker post, available as soon as possible.

The role is graded H12, pays £25,185 pro rata (£13.05 per hour), working 15 hours per week across split shifts between 6:30 and 18:00, 44 weeks per year (with additional holiday hours totalling 75 hours across summer, Christmas, Easter and half terms).

Responsibilities

• Open and close the building
• Respond to alarm call outs
• Oversee heating systems
• Liaise with contractors
• Keep the grounds in excellent order
• Support school lettings and events

Qualifications and Experience

• Previous experience in premises management, facilities or a caretaking role
• Working knowledge of health and safety procedures
• Practical DIY skills and ability to carry out minor repairs
• Experience operating heating systems and building management equipment
• Enhanced DBS clearance (desirable)
• Confident working independently, use good judgement when responding to out of hours incidents, and take pride in maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for children and staff
