School Business Manager

The Archdiocese of Birmingham in partnership with Wolverhampton City Council are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, organized and experienced School Business Manager at Holy Trinity Catholic Primary School to join our leadership team.
37 hours per week. Working: Monday to Thursday, 8am to 4.45pm and Fridays, 8am to 3pm. Required for September 2026.
This is a pivotal role within the school, responsible for leading and managing finance, administration, personnel and premises functions. You will work closely with the Headteacher and Governing Body to ensure the effective running of the school and contribute strategically to school improvement.
Responsibilities- lead on financial management, including budget planning, monitoring, and reporting to senior leaders and governors
- provide expert advice on financial, organisational and compliance matters
- manage the day-to-day running of the school office and administrative systems
- line manage administration staff and oversee staff development, recruitment and performance
- oversee HR and personnel processes, including payroll and staff records
- ensure compliance with financial regulations and statutory requirements
- manage contracts, procurement and income generation opportunities
- oversee premises, health & safety and site management, including lettings
- produce reports, analyse data and support informed decision making
- promote the school effectively through communications and liaison with stakeholders
- significant experience in financial or administrative management, preferably within a school or public sector setting
- strong knowledge of budget management and financial systems
- experience of managing and developing staff
- excellent organisational, analytical and communication skills
- the ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure
- a thorough understanding of safeguarding, health & safety and data protection responsibilities
- strong ICT skills, including experience of MIS systems (e.g. SIMS and FMS) and Microsoft Office
- NVQ Level 4 (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline or willingness to work towards
- GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above or equivalent)
