Job Description

Position: Scaffold Coordinator

Location: Rotterdam-Botlek, Netherlands

Duration: Initial 12-month contract (potential for extension)

Daily Rate: Negotiable

Languages Required: Fluent in Dutch and English

Certification Required: VCA-VOL

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9 hours/day (with flexibility for overtime/weekend work if requested)


About the Role

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and safety-focused Scaffold Coordinator to join the Hyco4 Project in Rotterdam-Botlek. This is a critical field-based position supporting construction activities within a major Oil & Gas / Petrochemical environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for scaffold planning, erection, modification, and dismantling activities on-site.
  • Ensure full compliance with site safety policies and scaffold industry standards.
  • Lead daily supervision and engagement in toolbox talks, safety audits, and field walk-downs.
  • Collaborate with the Project Quality team to monitor and enforce quality standards in line with Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Maintain accurate and timely reporting on scaffold operations, contractor performance, and related KPIs (including safety, schedule, and cost).
  • Contribute actively to the site's BSP (Basic Safety Process) and culture.
  • Monitor and record contractor resource levels, equipment condition, and work quality.
  • Issue daily discipline-specific reports, including safety observations and metrics.


Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar supervisory role within the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical sector.
  • Strong understanding of scaffold safety and construction site operations.
  • Previous experience in the Botlek/Rotterdam region is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership in high-risk construction environments.
  • Fluent in both Dutch and English (verbal and written).
  • Valid VCA-VOL certificate is mandatory.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to on-site presence; remote work is not allowed without prior approval.


Terms & Conditions

  • Includes a 5% completion bonus based on total approved timesheet days, payable at the successful end of the assignment.
  • No bonus if the candidate terminates the contract early.
  • Working Hours: 9 hours/day, Monday-Friday (with potential for extended days or weekend work).
  • Overtime: Paid only with prior client approval and in accordance with local labor laws.
  • Travel: Daily commute costs are not reimbursed. Business travel requested by the company will be fully reimbursed.
  • Notice Period: 4 weeks.
  • Leave: Unpaid leave requests require 1 week advance notice and client approval.
  • Onboarding: Includes 1 week at client's head office for Learnex training (mandatory), plus regular training updates.
