A leading UK-based Tier-1 EPC contractor delivering turnkey infrastructure solutions across renewable energy and power projects is seeking an experienced SCADA & Communications Engineer. The company specializes in large scale solar, BESS, and grid connection systems, providing end to end design, construction, and energisation services for complex energy infrastructure across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop SCADA and communication systems for HV substations and BESS projects ( kV).
• Configure and integrate RTUs, PLCs, HMIs, routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Define and implement communication protocols (IEC 61850, IEC 60870, DNP3, Modbus).
• Coordinate data exchanges between SCADA PPC, SCADA EMS, and SCADA DNO/IDNO interfaces.
• Support FAT/SAT testing, commissioning, and integration with DNO/NGESO systems.
• Ensure compliance with National Grid, DNO, and cybersecurity standards.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Control, or Communications Engineering.
• Proven experience designing and delivering SCADA and communication systems in HV or BESS environments.
• Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols and network configuration.
• Hands on experience with RTUs, PLCs, and HMIs from major OEMs (Siemens, Schneider, GE, SEL, Emerson).
• Familiarity with EPC or design and build project delivery environments.
