SAP Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Freelance SAP Project Manager to lead and drive ongoing SAP initiatives within a dynamic international organisation based in Amsterdam. You will oversee delivery across multiple workstreams, ensure alignment between IT and business stakeholders, and keep the programme on track through structured governance and clear communication.

This role is ideal for a consultant who brings strong delivery discipline, excellent stakeholder management, and proven experience leading SAP projects end-to-end.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage SAP projects across full lifecycle - planning, execution, risk management, and delivery.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across business, IT, and external vendors.
• Ensure project governance, reporting, milestones, and KPIs are met consistently.
• Manage budgets, timelines, resource planning, and scope changes.
• Facilitate workshops, status meetings, and steering committee sessions.
• Identify and mitigate risks, dependencies, and delivery blockers early.
• Support cutover, UAT, readiness planning, and go-live activities.
• Work closely with SAP functional & technical teams to ensure solution quality.
• Act as the key liaison between business stakeholders and the SAP programme.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5-10+ years experience as an SAP Project Manager.
• Proven track record delivering SAP projects (ECC, S/4HANA, or major module deployments).
• Strong understanding of SAP project methodology, governance, and delivery frameworks.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and external vendors.
• Ability to manage complex projects with tight deadlines.
• Comfortable working onsite in Amsterdam 2 days per week.

Contract Details

• Daily Rate: €550+ per day (depending on experience)
• Location: Amsterdam
• Working Model: Hybrid - 2 days onsite, 3 days remote
• Duration: 6-12 months, extension highly likely
• Interview: 1-2 stage process
