Role Purpose Statement

We are looking for an experienced SAP Integration Consultant to support the migration of existing SAP PI/PO interfaces to SAP BTP Integration Suite (SAP Cloud Integration).

The candidate will be responsible for analysing existing integrations, assessing migration requirements, designing and developing cloud-based integration flows, and ensuring a smooth transition from SAP PI/PO to SAP Integration Suite while maintaining business continuity and integration quality.

The role requires hands-on experience with SAP PI/PO and SAP Integration Suite, a good understanding of integration architecture and patterns, and the ability to troubleshoot complex interfaces across SAP and non-SAP systems.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the SAP Integration team, application owners, functional teams, and external stakeholders throughout the migration life cycle, from assessment and design to testing, deployment, and post-go-live support.

Main Accountabilities

• Analyze existing SAP PI/PO interfaces, including message mappings, communication channels, routing logic, adapters, and error-handling mechanisms.
• Assess interface complexity, dependencies, and migration requirements to support migration planning and effort estimation.
• Design and implement integration solutions using SAP BTP Integration Suite, primarily SAP Integration Suite.
• Migrate existing PI/PO interfaces to SAP Integration Suite, reusing existing integration logic where appropriate and redesigning interfaces where required.
• Develop and maintain integration flows (iFlows), message mappings, and transformation logic using graphical mapping, XSLT, and Groovy scripts.
• Configure and maintain connectivity with SAP and non-SAP systems using adapters such as IDoc, SOAP, HTTP, REST, OData, SFTP, and other relevant protocols.
• Ensure appropriate implementation of security, authentication, authorization, encryption, and certificate management.
• Perform unit testing, integration testing, and defect resolution in collaboration with application teams and business stakeholders.
• Support integration testing, cutover planning, deployment, and post-migration stabilization.
• Troubleshoot migration-related issues and ensure the functional and technical correctness of migrated interfaces.
• Document existing interfaces, migration decisions, technical designs, test results, and operational procedures.
• Follow established integration architecture principles, naming conventions, development standards, and reusable design patterns.
• Collaborate with the SAP Integration Lead and other team members to identify risks, dependencies, and opportunities for improving the migration approach.
• Support knowledge transfer and contribute to continuous improvement of migration tools, templates, and delivery practices.
• Provide technical support for migrated interfaces and participate in production incident resolution when required.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Hands-on experience with SAP PI/PO, preferably version 7.5, including interface development, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Practical experience with SAP BTP Integration Suite.
• Experience with interface migration, integration modernization, or the redesign of existing integration solutions.
• Strong understanding of integration patterns, synchronous and asynchronous communication, message processing, routing, and exception handling.
• Experience with SAP and non-SAP integrations using IDoc, SOAP, REST, HTTP, OData, SFTP, and related technologies.
• Experience developing message mappings using graphical mapping, XSLT, and Groovy Scripting.
• Good knowledge of XML, JSON, WSDL, and XSD.
• Understanding of API security, authentication mechanisms, certificates, and secure connectivity.
• Experience with integration testing, defect analysis, and root-cause investigation.
• Ability to analyze existing technical solutions and translate them into maintainable cloud-based integrations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a distributed team.
• Computer Science degree or equivalent practical experience.

Good to Have

• Participation in SAP PI/PO to SAP Integration Suite migration projects.
• Experience with migration assessment, interface inventory, complexity classification, and effort estimation.
• Experience with SAP Cloud Connector and connectivity between on-premise SAP systems and SAP BTP.
• Knowledge of SAP API Management and API life cycle management.
• Exposure to SAP Event Mesh and event-driven integration architectures.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated deployment, transport management, and version control.
• Experience with SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA integration scenarios.
• SAP Integration Suite certification.
