Job Description
Data Migration Specialist (SAP S/4HANA)

Location: offshore (India)

Start: ASAP

Duration: 6 months + extensions

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Migration Specialist with strong experience in data conversion, ETL processes, and a good understanding of SAP S/4HANA functionality. The ideal candidate will lead the end to end data migration lifecycle, ensuring high quality, accurate, and auditable data movement into SAP S/4HANA from SAP ECC and other source systems. Experience with SAP Migration Cockpit is essential, and experience with LSMW, WinShuttle is desirable.

Key Responsibilities Data Extraction, Transformation & Loading
  • Perform data extraction from various legacy systems, and/or work with data analysts who extract data from source systems.
  • Develop ETL processes using MS SQL, SAP Migration Cockpit, LSMW, and WinShuttle.
  • Transform, and enrich data according to SAP S/4HANA standards.
  • Work with business teams for data validation to develop data validation check list, and walk business teams thru the validation process.
  • Perform data quality checks, error resolution, and reconciliation between legacy and SAP systems.
SAP S/4HANA Functional Alignment
  • Work closely with SAP functional teams to ensure alignment of data structures with S/4HANA configuration.
  • Understand master data and transactional data requirements across modules (MM, SD, FI, CO, PS, CPM).
  • Support functional testing phases including SIT, UAT, and cutover rehearsals.
  • Collaborate with business and functional teams to capture data requirements and mapping rules.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Hands on experience with:
    • SAP Migration Cockpit (S/4HANA)
  • Desirable experience with:
    • LSMW
    • WinShuttle (scripts, mass loads, automation)
  • Strong understanding of ETL concepts and data migration methodologies.
  • Experience in data validation, cleansing, profiling, and reconciliation.
  • Familiarity with SAP BAPIs, IDocs, and SAP standard load interfaces.
  • MS SQL knowledge is desirable.
