Job Description

We are seeking an SAP Basis System Administrator responsible for the configuration, monitoring, optimization, and troubleshooting of the SAP technology stack, including SAP applications and underlying databases.

The role focuses on ensuring stable SAP landscape operations, executing system upgrades and maintenance activities, and supporting integrations with surrounding systems. The administrator will also plan and manage technical tasks or projects, working closely with internal teams to maintain performance, availability, and security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and secure SAP landscapes, ensuring stable and reliable operations

  • Perform SAP Basis administration, including monitoring, workload analysis, and performance tuning

  • Manage database administration (Oracle and SAP HANA)

  • Implement SAP system copies, upgrades, and patch installations

  • Apply support packages, Kernel updates, and technical upgrades in S/4HANA landscapes

  • Configure and maintain high-availability solutions

  • Connect and maintain interfaces and integrations, including SAP BTP Integration Suite

  • Support SAP BTP integration with on-premise and cloud systems

  • Troubleshoot technical issues and provide post-deployment support

  • Document technical activities and ensure compliance with security standards

  • Coordinate with infrastructure and integration teams when required

Key Expectations

  • Strong experience with SAP S/4HANA implementations, conversions, and upgrades

  • 4-6 years experience with SAP BTP Integration Suite (BTP IS) and Back End integrations

  • Solid SAP Basis administration expertise including system maintenance and performance optimization

  • Ability to proactively identify and resolve technical issues

  • Experience working with complex SAP landscapes and integrations

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently in an international team environment

Technical Skills

  • SAP system installation, configuration, and maintenance

  • Databases: SAP HANA, Oracle, SQL Server

  • SAP BTP and BTP Integration Suite

  • SAP system copies, upgrades, and patch management

  • SAP high availability and performance tuning

  • Network and security concepts related to SAP environments

Team & Practical Information

  • Team size: 5.5 FTE with strong senior expertise and collaborative culture

  • International team environment

  • Role requires high autonomy and proactive ownership

  • Contract may be extended into 2027

  • November and December are critical project months; leave during this period is discouraged

Education

No specific educational background required. Relevant SAP Basis experience is the primary qualification.
