SAP APO Consultant (PPDS Planning)
- Contract: 10 months minimum (Jan-Nov 2026)
- Start: Mid-December 2025 or January 2026
- Location: Ghent, on-site presence until May 2026
- Travel: Europe-wide (post-go-live) (expenses covered)
- Language: Dutch preferred, English required
Project Context
This role supports a major SAP R3 ECC roll out focused on APO (Advanced Planner & Optimiser) and PPDS (Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling). The project is approaching key milestones - APO will be phased out by April 2026, with go-live scheduled for May 2026.
The consultant will play a pivotal role in guiding on-site users, supporting planners, and ensuring successful knowledge transfer and adoption of newly built functionalities. You'll collaborate closely with cross-country teams based in Belgium, the UK, Portugal, France, Spain, and Germany.
Key ResponsibilitiesAct as the lead APO/PPDS consultant for the roll out and go-live phase in Ghent.
Support production planners (PPDS users) through on-site guidance, workshops, and hands-on system usage.
Ensure effective adoption of newly developed features and enhancements.
Provide functional expertise and mentoring to local key users and junior team members.
Collaborate with international colleagues (Belgium, UK, Portugal) to harmonise roll out templates and processes.
Oversee data consistency, integration points, and configuration across APO and ECC.
Lead user testing, cut over, and post-go-live stabilisation.
Provide ongoing follow-up and support after May 2026, including support for subsequent roll out waves across European factories.
Required Skills & Experience
8+ years of hands-on SAP experience with strong expertise in APO (PPDS) and ECC Production Planning (PP/MM integration).
Proven background in R3/ECC rollout or migration projects.
Solid understanding of manufacturing planning, detailed scheduling, and capacity planning.
Prior experience leading or mentoring teams - senior or lead-level consultant only.
Comfortable providing on-site user support, training, and guidance in both Dutch and English.
Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Willingness to travel across Europe post-go-live (approx. May 2026 onwards).
Nice to Have
Experience in transitioning from APO to S/4HANA PP/DS.
Familiarity with multi-site production planning or discrete/process manufacturing environments.
Ability to collaborate with external partners or system integrators.
