As our new Sanctions Screening Manager in the Sanctions team in London, you'll lead a team of L2 Analysts that support the Sanctions Screening Lead and Head of Sanctions, and drives quality, control, and continuous improvement acrosspayment andVIBANscreening activities.
You will be responsible forleading the Level 2 sanctions screening function within Business AML, providing oversight of complex sanctions investigations, escalations, and decision-making activities. The role ensures sanctions risks are appropriatelyidentified, assessed, and mitigated in line with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and Banking Circle's risk appetite.

- Act as the primary escalation point for complex sanctions alerts and investigations.
- Review andguideSanctions Screeningdecisions, includingpotentialtrue matches, false positives, rejected transactions, andguidance oncompliance escalations.
- Ensure sanctions alerts are investigated and resolved within agreed SLAs.
- Provideexpert guidance on global sanctions regimes, ownership structures, and sanctions risk assessments.
- Maintain and enhance sanctions procedures, controls, and working instructions.
- Oversee quality assurance activities and ensure consistency of analyst decisions.
- Produce and analyse management information, trends, and performance metrics.
- Support audits, regulatory reviews, and control testing activities.
- Lead stakeholder engagement with Compliance, Financial Crime, Operations, and external counterparties.
- Identifyand implement process improvements and system enhancements.
Things we'll look for on your resume
To succeed in this role, you should have 8+ years of experience in Banking, Payments, FinTech, or Correspondent Banking, with strong expertise in payment and sanctions screening, alert management, investigations, financial crime operations, and global sanctions regimes (OFAC, EU, UK, UN, etc.).
You have a track record in managing complex sanctions investigations and escalations and solid people management and coaching experience is required.
You have strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills and excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
AML, ICA, ACAMS, or sanctions-related certifications are desirable and proficiencyin Microsoft Office, particularly Excel is required.
