Salesforce Copado SME

Overview

We are seeking a Salesforce Copado Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a large-scale Salesforce transformation programme. The role will focus on designing and governing DevOps, release management, and test automation capabilities using Copado across a complex Salesforce ecosystem.

The successful candidate will operate at the intersection of architecture, delivery governance, and quality engineering, ensuring scalable DevOps practices and robust testing frameworks are Embedded across multiple Salesforce clouds and delivery teams.

This role may operate as either a DevOps Architect, Copado Architecture SME, or Test/QA Lead depending on programme needs.

Key ResponsibilitiesCopado Architecture & DevOps Strategy

• Design and implement Salesforce DevOps architecture using Copado across multiple environments and Salesforce clouds.

• Define branching strategies, release governance models, and deployment pipelines.

• Establish best practices for source-driven development and CI/CD pipelines within Salesforce programmes.

• Define environment strategies covering development, SIT, UAT, and production deployments.

• Implement scalable release management and change governance frameworks.

Release Management & Environment Governance

• Own end-to-end Salesforce release management processes using Copado.

• Define deployment strategies including hotfix, patch, and major release cycles.

• Manage environment alignment across multiple delivery teams and suppliers.

• Ensure traceability between user stories, commits, deployments, and production releases.

• Provide governance and oversight across multi-team release cycles.

Test Strategy & Quality Engineering

• Design and implement test strategies integrated with Copado pipelines.

• Define automated testing frameworks including:

  • Unit testing

  • Integration testing

  • Regression testing

  • End-to-end testing

• Integrate Copado with testing tools such as Selenium, Provar, or Copado Robotic Testing.

• Ensure quality gates and automated validation are Embedded into the CI/CD pipeline.

• Define test data management strategies across environments.

Architecture & Integration Alignment

• Work closely with Salesforce architects and platform teams to align DevOps with enterprise architecture.

• Ensure CI/CD pipelines support:

  • multi-cloud Salesforce environments

  • integrations with Middleware and external platforms

  • large-scale metadata deployments

• Ensure compliance with security and governance standards.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Collaborate with Architecture, Engineering, QA, and Product teams across the programme.

• Provide guidance to development teams on Copado usage, DevOps practices, and release processes.

• Lead DevOps and testing governance forums and architecture reviews.

• Provide advisory support to programme leadership on DevOps maturity and platform optimisation.

Required ExperienceSalesforce & Copado

• Extensive experience implementing Copado DevOps pipelines within Salesforce environments.

• Experience supporting Salesforce multi-cloud programmes (Sales, Service, Experience, Industries etc.).

• Strong understanding of Salesforce metadata deployment models and environment management.

DevOps & CI/CD

• Experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines for Salesforce platforms.

• Knowledge of Git-based development workflows and branching strategies.

• Familiarity with DevOps tooling such as:

  • GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket

  • Jenkins

  • Copado

  • CI/CD orchestration platforms

Test & Quality Engineering

• Experience leading test automation strategies in Salesforce environments.

• Knowledge of automated testing tools such as:

  • Provar

  • Selenium

  • Copado Robotic Testing

  • Postman/API testing tools

• Strong understanding of test life cycle management and test environment orchestration.
