Job Summary


Are you ready to take the lead in driving commercial success within a fast-growing technology company committed to supporting the global energy transition? We are looking for a strategic and results-driven Sales Manager to head commercial initiatives and lead client acquisition for cutting-edge IoT remote monitoring solutions in the Oil & Gas and Energy sectors.


In this Amsterdam-based role, you'll work closely with senior leadership to build and execute commercial strategies, expand market presence, and drive key account growth-both nationally and internationally. Note: This role requires native or near-native Dutch, and fluency in English.


Main Responsibilities


  • Lead and execute the commercial strategy to expand market share across the Netherlands and international markets.
  • Build and nurture high-value client relationships, from prospecting through negotiation and closing.
  • Manage the full sales cycle for IoT monitoring solutions with long lead times and complex decision-making processes.
  • Develop and coach a growing sales team, setting performance targets, KPIs, and accountability frameworks.
  • Drive key account growth and retention through a consultative sales approach.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Marketing) to tailor solutions to client needs.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer insights to inform sales strategy and positioning.
  • Provide regular forecasting, reporting, and pipeline updates to leadership.


Qualifications & Experience

  • around 10 years of B2B sales experience in technical, capital goods or IoT-based solutions, ideally in the Oil & Gas, Energy, or Industrial Technology sectors.
  • Proven track record in leading sales initiatives and closing high-value deals in long sales cycles.
  • Native or near-native Dutch and fluent English communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills; able to influence and build trust at all levels.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to develop strategic sales plans.
  • Experience with CRM systems, digital prospecting tools, and modern sales methodologies.
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings, events, and international projects as needed.
  • Experience working in scale-up environments or rapidly growing technology firms would be a plus
  • Background in leading or mentoring junior sales professionals.
