About the Role:
Fynde Global Recruitment has partnered with a leading company in the sports retail industry to find a highly motivated Sales Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for driving sales, managing customer relationships, and acquiring new business within the Benelux region. The company specialises in sports teamwear, fan merchandise, and related products, offering a wide range of customised solutions for sports clubs, athletes, and fans. You will be responsible for promoting high-quality gear and accessories, ensuring customer satisfaction, and achieving sales targets.
As the first point of contact for customers, you will not only be responsible for acquiring new business but also for managing and maintaining long-term relationships with existing clients, making you a key part of the company's growth in the region.
Reporting Line:
The Sales Manager reports directly to the Regional Sales Manager (RSM) and collaborates closely with the Customer Operations Executive (COE).
Main Responsibilities
Revenue Generation:
- Achievement of Sales Targets: Responsible for reaching monthly and annual sales goals in the sports merchandise and teamwear sectors.
- Contract Closures: Closing orders and finalising contracts with amateur associations, professional sports clubs, and B2B accounts.
Customer Acquisition and Management:
- Acquisition of New Clients: Proactively approach and secure new amateur and professional sports clubs, as well as B2B accounts in the region.
- Contract Management: Concluding and extending contracts, as well as coordinating collections and creating orders via the company's platform.
- Customer Relationships: Building and maintaining long-term, positive relationships with sports clubs and merchandise customers.
- Brand Representation: Acting as the ambassador for the company, ensuring a professional external image in the sportswear market.
- Digital Tools Support: Assisting and coordinating clubs in using digital tools such as club webshops to promote merchandise sales.
- Complaint Management: Managing complaints and claims in cooperation with the COE.
Club Activation:
- Promoting Digital Tools: Encouraging the active use of the company's digital tools, including the Club Shop and App, by clubs and their members to drive merchandise and teamwear sales.
- Training and Workshops: Conducting sessions to introduce and optimise the use of digital tools and how to enhance merchandise sales.
- Communication & Motivation: Keeping regular communication with clubs and accounts to encourage merchandise and teamwear orders.
- Monitoring & Support: Overseeing the usage of digital tools, identifying areas for improvement, and offering support as needed.
Offer Management and Orders:
- Creating Custom Offers: Developing and following up on tailored offers for sports clubs and merchandise accounts.
- Order Processing: Collaborating with the COE/Club Ops Team to ensure smooth and timely order processing for merchandise and teamwear.
- Handover to COE: Ensuring the seamless transition of completed orders to the COE team.
Collaboration with Other Departments:
- Finance Support: Assisting the Finance team with dunning procedures and other financial matters.
- Reporting: Preparing weekly reports for the Sales Manager and maintaining sales management tools.
- Feedback Culture: Actively contributing to a culture of feedback and continuous improvement.
- Relationship Management: Maintaining a strong working relationship with the COE team to ensure customer satisfaction in the sports merchandise and teamwear sector.
What We Need:
- A completed commercial education or equivalent qualifications.
- 2-5 years of experience in sales and account management, with a strong focus on hunting new business and a mix of farming existing accounts.
- A strong network within the amateur and professional sports world.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.
- A confident, service-oriented mindset with a passion for sports and teamwear.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team.
- Proficiency in MS Office and good computer skills.
- Fluency in Dutch and English (spoken and written); knowledge of French and/or German is a plus.
