Job Description

The Sales Engineer

Location: London, UK (Hybrid)

Reports to: Chief Revenue Officer

About the role.

The Sales Engineer plays a key pre-sales role in winning new clients using Eagle Eye's world leading set of tools. You will work hand in hand with the commercial, delivery and product teams.

Your role is to show the client that our technology will meet their needs during the sales process. When you are with the client you represent Eagle Eye and when you are with Eagle Eye you represent the client ensuring we are always finding the optimal fit of our products to meet their needs. You are the subject matter expert, providing deep understanding of cloud architecture and system architecture; all Eagle Eye products and capabilities; in addition to keeping up to date on product changes and future roadmap.

The successful applicant will be highly technically skilled, innovative, a great communicator with strong levels of emotional intelligence.

Typical duties include

Client Engagement:

Supporting the Eagle Eye win team in the pre and post sales process.

Supporting the Account Management team in actively pursuing potential new revenue through additional services with existing customers.

Supporting the transition into the Delivery and Account Management teams.

Manage defined aspects of the presales process independently.

Deliver technical demonstrations and assist in workshops with clients.

Build rapport with clients to better understand their business challenges.

Collaborate with account managers to identify additional service opportunities.

Writing clear and high-quality responses (including RFI and RFP responses) to customer requests.

Technical Proficiency:

Developing high level technical solutions to satisfy the vision of the client, highlighting value in the Eagle Eye platform.

Analyse client requirements and provide tailored platform solutions.

Stay updated on product changes and roadmap developments.

Assist in designing integrations between client systems and SaaS platforms.

Develop and present technical documentation for client use.

Leadership and Influence:

Lead significant client engagements and critical technical workshops.

Provide thought leadership in technical solution development.

Act as the primary technical advisor during strategic client discussions.

Strategic Contribution:

Shape product strategy by engaging with senior stakeholders.

Mentor junior team members and contribute to cross-functional initiatives.

Drive innovation by identifying opportunities for product and service enhancements.

Collaborate with product teams to align roadmap priorities with client needs.

Strong technical and functional understanding of software platforms and especially APIs.

Strong understanding of database and other system components.

Strong technical understanding of the Google Cloud Platform.

Proven experience of planning, facilitating and leading workshops and meetings to deliver an agreed outcome.

Proven experience of delivering complex software solutions to large retail customers.

Awareness of security considerations underlying the Eagle Eye platform.

Awareness of the software development lifecycle.

Desirable to possess an understanding of the retail and/or hospitality technology space.
