The Role:

We are looking for a motivated and results-driven Sales Development Representative to join our growing Commercial team in London. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and qualifying new business opportunities with a strong focus on clients in the Retail, Supply Chain, and FMCG sectors across African markets. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a purpose-driven company that is scaling rapidly and transforming trade in emerging economies.

You will act as the first point of contact for potential clients, playing a critical role in generating leads and driving early-stage pipeline growth. The ideal candidate will have experience in business development or sales roles, a solid understanding of the FMCG value chain, and demonstrable knowledge of doing business in key African markets.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Development & Lead Generation:

  • Conduct outbound prospecting activities via phone, email, and social channels to engage potential clients across African markets.
  • Qualify leads through structured discovery calls and research, ensuring alignment with RedCloud's value proposition.
  • Collaborate closely with Account Executives and Marketing to develop strategic outreach plans.
  • Manage and update CRM systems with accurate and timely information on prospect interactions.

Market Expertise & Client Understanding:

  • Leverage your understanding of FMCG, retail, and supply chain environments in Africa to identify key business pain points.
  • Translate customer needs into opportunities where RedCloud's platform can deliver measurable value.
  • Stay informed about market trends, industry challenges, and competitor movements across key African economies.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:

  • Share insights with Product and Marketing teams to help shape market messaging and feature development.
  • Actively contribute to the ongoing improvement of sales processes, outreach techniques, and lead qualification strategies.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 2+ years of experience in Sales Development, Lead Generation, or Business Development.
  • Strong knowledge of African FMCG, retail, or supply chain environments.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency using CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.

Preferred:

  • Experience working directly in or with African markets in a commercial or consulting capacity.
  • Understanding of digital commerce platforms or B2B SaaS solutions.
  • Exposure to working with international or cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to use technology to improve efficiency and ensure scalability (AI and Agentic tools)
