Details of the jobWe are recruiting for a Sales & Services Watches and Jewellery Specialist to join our Sloane Street team.
Working hours are Monday to Saturday with three rotating shift patterns: 8:30am - 5:00pm, 9:30am - 6:00pm, and 10:00am - 6:30pm.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Sales & Services Watches and Jewellery Specialist you will provide excellent customer service to clients within our Watches and Jewellery metiers. Support colleagues with sales to contribute to store turnover. Demonstrate the House values to clients and colleagues.
You will provide exceptional service and detailed product knowledge of our Watches and Jewellery metiers, while maintaining knowledge of other metiers & services within the store. Work with your manager to ensure efficient department operation, maintain personal presentation, be a team player and lead by example.
- Contribute to store turnover through selling.
- Demonstrate warmth and patience with customers and maintain a can-do attitude.
- Address customer requests and ensure efficient communication with clients and colleagues.
- Develop knowledge of after-sales support processes.
- Familiarise yourself with merchandise to enhance product knowledge.
- Understand store ambitions (sales objectives, KPIs) and contribute positively.
- Establish and maintain strong client relationships with timely follow-up on requests and after-sales service, aligned with Hermes standards and values.
- Ensure strong customer communication during selling and after sales.
- Deliver high levels of service as an ambassador of the House to ensure client satisfaction and repeat business.
- Practice active listening to understand clients and build loyalty.
- Accurate CRM capture and recording of client data.
- Participate in daily store communications and briefings.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Maintain store standards and daily procedures.
- Handle merchandise with care and uphold House procedures.
- Familiarise yourself with visual merchandising basics and stock replenishment.
- Understand Watches and Jewellery metier and other metiers.
- Maintain a balanced shop floor presence in the absence of the Department Manager.
- Maintain good communication with the Department Manager and Assistant Store Manager to support department operations.
- Perform tasks as directed in the manager's absence while upholding standards in your metier.
- Establish and maintain relationships within the store and Hermes, delivering high-level customer service at all times.
- Participate in and complete training; share knowledge with colleagues and clients.
- Attend morning briefs, present new launches, and identify key selling points.
- Train on stock control and till procedures affecting sales and stock data.
- Contribute to the Monthly Report with feedback for the Department Manager.
- Follow Hermes merchandising guidelines and coordinate with Visual Merchandiser as needed.
- Be proactive in stock replenishment and department performance; cross-sell across metiers.
- Maintain product knowledge across store departments and ensure proper packaging and stock accessibility.
- Understand after-sales processes and Hermes merchandise through training materials.
- Keep stock areas tidy and safe.
- Tag, ticket, handle, and store goods with care, following price change timelines.
- Maintain accurate ticketing and stock position through regular checks.
- Report stock and quality issues to the Department Manager or Assistant Store Manager.

We are looking for someone who is a credible expert in Fine Watches or Jewellery, with experience in a high-volume, fast-paced luxury retail environment. You should demonstrate strong relationship-building with a diverse client portfolio and be able to educate peers and clients with expert product knowledge.
- Passion or expertise in Watches and/or Jewellery
- Strong understanding of the luxury retail industry and clientele
- Good team spirit and flexibility to sell across other metiers
- Excellent stakeholder management, able to work with teams across GB and Paris
- Warmth and empathy, especially when handling objections
- Calm under pressure and versatile
- Ambassador of the House with high personal standards
- Strong admin skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
