About our Business Banking sales teamWe are rapidly growing and now serve over 900k businesses in the UK.
To support the next phase of our expansion, we're hiring a small team of experienced account executives whose mission is to reach out and support more complex high value customers with a personalised experience.
We're building an acquisition engine and your job will be to work with small-medium business (SMB) prospective customers, guide them through their buying journey, work with them to activate their account and bring all their banking needs to Monzo.
This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the founding sales team for a mission-driven company changing how people and businesses bank.
Responsibilities- Engage with prospective SMB customers through discovery calls, and understand their business, challenges, goals and requirements.
- Drive the full sales cycle, from early prospecting and qualification through demos and sales to ensuring a successful account switch and activation.
- Guide customers through Monzo's business banking offerings, providing clear, factual information and helping them evaluate what works best.
- Be a product expert: fully understand Monzo's business banking products, features and services.
- Manage a pipeline of leads with strong attention to data hygiene: timely follow-ups, accurate forecasting, deal tracking.
- Drive activation: not just closing, but ensuring new business customers are fully set up, onboarded, and using Monzo for their banking needs.
- Collaborate internally: work closely with marketing, product, risk and customer operations to ensure a smooth journey for customers.
- Deliver outstanding service at every touchpoint: via phone, video, email or digital channels.
- Achieve sales targets: conversion, activations, revenue, engagement and other growth metrics as set by the commercial leadership.
- Feed insights back: capture and share customer feedback - pain points, required features, suggestions for product improvements.
- Adapt & iterate: Things will change rapidly and often - be comfortable with ambiguity and change and help support what comes next.
- Experience in small business sales, ideally selling business solutions or financial services; knowing how to engage business customers and understand their mindset, needs and pain points.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas or targets in a performance-driven environment.
- Expert at managing a full sales cycle from prospecting to activation, including structured and rigorous outreach, follow-ups and cross-team coordination.
- High emotional intelligence and ability to quickly connect and build relationships with customers of diverse backgrounds and levels of knowledge.
- Strategic communicator, excellent at building trust and helping customers discover value - consultative, listening and asking insightful questions.
- Adaptable and resilient, embracing change and having a strong winning mindset to see challenges as opportunities to learn and grow.
- Excellent written, verbal and video communication; able to simplify complex topics for customers.
- Coachable and comfortable seeking constructive criticism to empower continuous learning and improvement.
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving, high-change environment; thrives when things aren't fully defined yet.
- Strong personal organisation: tracking pipeline, managing time, prioritising leads and follow-up tasks.
- Integrity and strong consumer duty awareness: regulatory compliance, knowing your customer, reducing risk, safeguarding data and putting consumer duty first.
- Prior experience in a regulated environment (banking).
- Experience with Salesforce.
- Familiarity with SMBs in specific verticals, e.g. food & drink, professional services, construction.
£67,000 Total OTE (base salary + commission).
4 days a week in our London office with occasional flexibility to work remotely (in the UK).
Flexible working hours and trust to work enough hours to do the job well, at times that suit the employee.
£1,000 learning budget each year to use on books, training courses and conferences.
