Softwerx is expanding rapidly, and we're now seeking an experienced Public Sector Sales Account Executive to drive new business across our secure365 Security Managed Services portfolio. Location

This is a hybrid role with weekly visits to the Cambridge Head Office at CB22 3GN (may change depending on business requirements) and occasional travel across the UK to customer sites, Microsoft partner events and public sector industry conferences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate new public-sector business to meet monthly targets across our secure365 Security Managed Services portfolio.
  • Position Softwerx as a trusted cybersecurity partner for government, education, NHS and regulated organisations.
  • Navigate public-sector procurement processes (frameworks, competitive tenders, budget cycles, sign off structures).
  • Cross-sell and up-sell complementary Softwerx services into the accounts you win, such as penetration testing, consultancy, and Microsoft security projects.
  • Work closely with Marketing to shape campaigns that resonate with public sector priorities (compliance, risk reduction, cost efficiency).
  • Build and maintain strong knowledge of the Microsoft security stack to add value during discovery, scoping, and procurement engagement.
Essential Experience
  • 3+ years of proven sales success and consistent delivery against targets.
  • Demonstrable experience winning or expanding accounts in the public sector.
  • Strong persistence, resilience, and ability to drive new business opportunities.
  • Proven ability to manage and grow accounts while working largely independently.
  • Confidence in engaging senior stakeholders, technical teams, and procurement.
Preferred Experience
  • Knowledge of public sector procurement frameworks and buying cycles.
  • Experience in cybersecurity or related IT services.
  • Understanding of Microsoft security technologies and cloud security models.
  • Experience selling SECaaS (Security as a Service) or managed security services.
  • 5+ years in cyber or public sector technology sales.
Package
  • Competitive base salary: £40,000 - £50,000 (DOE)
  • Uncapped commission with an OTE of £90,000+
