Braemar Medical is currently working with one of our valued GP surgery clients to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated General Practitioner to join their friendly and supportive team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a GP looking to join a high-performing primary care practice offering a supportive working environment, strong clinical teamwork and opportunities to develop professionally.

The role is for 6 sessions per week, working across Monday, Thursday and Friday, with Thursday including two Duty Doctor sessions.

The practice would particularly welcome candidates with an interest in Women's Health.

The Role

As an ARRS GP, you will provide high-quality primary care services to patients while working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct face-to-face GP consultations.
• Conduct telephone consultations.
• Undertake online consultations where appropriate.
• Participate in triage and clinical assessment.
• Participate in Duty Doctor/on-call responsibilities.
• Assess and manage undifferentiated and undiagnosed patient presentations. Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions.
• Develop appropriate care and treatment plans.
• Initiate appropriate investigations and interpret results.
• Review pathology and diagnostic results.
• Make appropriate referrals to secondary care and other healthcare providers.
• Ensure appropriate follow-up of patients.
• Check and authorise repeat prescriptions.
• Prescribe safely in accordance with the practice formulary, NICE guidance and the BNF. Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical records.
• Ensure appropriate clinical coding.
• Support QOF and enhanced service requirements.
• Participate in clinical governance and quality improvement.
• Work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, pharmacists and the wider primary care team.
• Contribute to the continued development of primary care services.

Clinical & Professional Responsibilities

• The successful candidate will be expected to:
• Make professional and autonomous clinical decisions.
• Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
• Assess patients presenting with undifferentiated problems.
• Initiate and review investigations.
• Develop personalised treatment and management plans.
• Work in accordance with current NICE guidance and practice protocols.
• Maintain high standards of clinical documentation.
• Ensure the practice clinical database is kept accurate and up to date.
• Support safe and effective medicines management.
• Work within relevant clinical governance frameworks.
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
• Work collaboratively with the wider primary healthcare team.

Person Specification Essential

• Fully qualified General Practitioner.
• Full GMC Registration with Licence to Practise.
• Inclusion on the NHS England Performers List.
• Eligible to work independently as a GP in UK General Practice.
• Current UK professional GMC registration.
• Experience working within NHS General Practice.
• Experience working within a primary care environment.
• Experience using electronic clinical patient records.
• Experience with medicines management.
• Knowledge of QOF and clinical audit.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong clinical decision-making skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.
• Full UK driving licence where required for the role.

Desirable

• Experience using EMIS.
• Interest or experience in Women's Health.
• Experience with the GMS Contract.
• Understanding of the Network Contract DES.
• Knowledge of clinical governance.
• Experience with CCG/ICB primary care initiatives.
• Experience with QOF and enhanced services.
• Minor surgery accreditation.
• Family planning accreditation.
• Obstetrics experience or relevant accreditation.
• Experience with Community Health Services.

This position is being recruited as an ARRS GP role. Candidates will therefore need to meet the relevant eligibility requirements for an ARRS GP position.
