As a newly qualified GP within 2 years of qualification, you will undertake a variety of duties governed by the GMS contract to include:
- Face to face consultations
- Telephone consultations
- Visiting patients at home and in nursing homes
- Checking and signing repeat prescriptions
- Dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence as required
- All aspects of clinical administration
Mainduties of the job
- Thefollowing are the core responsibilities of the Salaried GP. There may be, onoccasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent uponfactors such as workload and staffing levels:
- Thedelivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population
- Theprovision of services commensurate with the primary care contract
- Genericprescribing adhering to local and national guidance
- Effectivemanagement of long-term conditions
- Processingof administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescriptionrequests and other associated administrative tasks
- Maintainaccurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy andguidance
- Workcollaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload
- Adhereto best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process
- Contributeto the successful implementation of continuous improvement and qualityinitiatives within the practice.
- Contributeeffective to the development and maintenance of the practice including clinicalgovernance and training
- Ensurecompliance with the appraisal process
- Prepareand complete the revalidation process
- Committo self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional developmentacross the practice team
- Adhereto practice protocols and policies
- Encouragecollaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, always promoting aculture of continuous improvement
We are looking for a salaried GP for 4 sessions per week,on duty until 6.30pm with an additional session per week extended hours until8pm. Please note these sessions may be split across two practices working inthe same health centre (Farnworth Family Practice & Figtree Medical Centre)
As the lead employer - FarnworthFamily Practice is a training practice consisting of 2 GPpartners, 1 salaried GP, 1 GP Trainee, 1 practice nurse, 1 healthcare assistantand administration staff. Our current practice list size is approximately4300. We are a well performingpractice. We are rated Good by the Care QualityCommission (CQC). Ourpatient feedback from the national survey is very positive and we score, in themajority, above local and national performance.
We are a member practice of the Farnworth & KearsleyPrimary Care Network (PCN) and we have a team of ARRS staff who we have accessto, including mental health practitioner, MSK practitioner, GP, paramedic,pharmacists, pharmacy technician and social prescriber link workers.

Person Specification Qualifications- Qualifications - Essential
- The applicant must be a qualified GP with full GMC registration licence to practice.
- The applicant must be active on a performers list and have a UK drivers licence.
- Experience - Essential

- Experience of working within a GP practice using EMIS, docman 10 and AccuRx specifically
