Strathpeffer Medical Practice is offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and dynamic GP to join our friendly and supportive team.
Based in the scenic Scottish Highlands, we are a semi rural practice with our main surgery in Strathpeffer and a branch surgery in the nearby town of Dingwall. We are a committed, forward thinking team focused on delivering high quality patient care while supporting a healthy work-life balance. We are seeking a like minded, well motivated GP to join us for 4 sessions per week.
The Area and PracticeStrathpeffer is a beautiful Victorian spa village less than 30 minutes northwest of Inverness, with an active community and excellent local schools. The Highlands offer exceptional opportunities for walking, hiking, mountaineering, skiing, fishing, sailing and more, while Inverness provides a full range of cultural amenities including theatre, dining, cinema and shopping.
Our practice boundary covers areas north of Dingwall, east of Culbokie, north of Muir of Ord, and west to Achnasheen. We have a steadily increasing list size, currently around 3900 patients.
The Strathpeffer surgery, purpose built in 2004, is a spacious, modern and light building with five consulting rooms, two treatment rooms, a counselling room and administrative space. It sits at the heart of the community, adjacent to the primary school and community centre. The surgery is open from 8am - 6pm Monday to Friday, with the exception of Wednesday afternoons, when we close for protected learning time, administrative work and meetings. During this time we remain open for emergencies only, covered by a duty doctor.
Our Dingwall surgery is also purpose built, located centrally within the town, and includes two consultation rooms and a treatment room. It currently opens Monday afternoon, Wednesday and Friday mornings. Clinical staff are mainly based in Strathpeffer, with each clinician working at our Dingwall site for at least one session per week. Patients may be seen at either site.
We are fully computerised using the Vision clinical system and Docman.
The Practice sits within the South/Mid Operational Unit of NHS Highland. The local secondary care hospital is Raigmore Hospital, which is located less than 30 minutes' drive away in Inverness.
