Main duties of the job
  • Provide high-quality clinical care to patients in line with GMC guidelines and the QOF framework
  • Conduct face-to-face and telephone consultations
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to shared learning and collaborative working
  • Support the practice in clinical governance, audits, and continuous improvement
  • Take part in duty doctor rota and clinical meetings
  • Opportunities to develop specialist interests are supported and encouraged
About us

Woodley Centre Surgery is a modern, well-equipped practice located in the vibrant town of Woodley, with excellent transport links to Reading and the wider Thames Valley.

We are an established training practice comprising two surgeries, providing medical services to approximately 13,700 patients across both sites. Our multidisciplinary team includes GPs, Paramedics, PNs, Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians, HCAs, a Health and Well-Being team, and a supportive non-clinical staff.

Job responsibilities
  • Patient Consultations: Conduct thorough consultations, including taking medical histories, examining patients physically, and addressing their concerns.
  • Diagnosis and Treatment: Diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions, prescribe medications, and recommend appropriate treatments.
  • Chronic Disease Management: Provide ongoing care and support for patients with chronic illnesses such as diabetes, heart disease, and asthma.
  • Continuing Professional Development: Keep up-to-date with medical advancements and best practices.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to medical emergencies within the practice setting.

Person Specification Experience
  • Relevant experience in primary care, including managing diverse health needs
  • EMIS knowledge
Qualifications
  • Essential qualifications include being a qualified GP, MRCGP, or equivalent, with full GMC registration
