To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract. Furthermore, the post-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contribute to the effective management of the practice, lead by example, and maintain a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.
Main duties of the job Primary ResponsibilitiesThe following are the core responsibilities of the salaried GP. There may occasionally be a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will depend on factors such as workload and staffing levels:
Clinical responsibilitiesIn accordance with the Practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions in paper or electronically, and dealing with queries, patient test results, patient medical reports, and examinations on behalf of the Practice.
