Northumbria Primary Care Ltd (NPC) manages several GP practices with around 50,000 registered patients in Northumberland and North Tyneside. NPC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

Job overviewWe are expanding our GP workforce across 38 sessions, thanks to our not-for-profit principles and reinvestment in service delivery. Shortlisted candidates will have one interview and indicate preferred sites within the NPC group. Successful candidates will be assigned a single base site and will not rotate across sites. All candidates will be considered for all areas.
The NPC sites include:
- North Tyneside: Spring Terrace Health Centre, Nelson Medical Group, 49 Marine Avenue, Park Parade Surgery
- Cramlington & Seaton Valley: Elsdon Avenue, Cramlington Medical Group, Northumbria Way
- West: Ponteland Medical Group, Haydon Bridge & Allendale
- North: Rothbury Practice, Widdrington and Felton Surgery, Coquet Medical Group
The advert closes on Wednesday 16th April at 12pm. Interviews will be held on 23rd, 25th, and 29th April. These dates are fixed due to service needs. The vacancy may close early if sufficient applications are received.

Job responsibilitiesWe develop our workforce, including GP registrars, students, and staff, focusing on quality improvement, patient care, and staff wellbeing. The post involves providing general medical services, managing a busy caseload, and contributing to operational and strategic practice management, with opportunities for professional growth.
Person specification Qualifications- Full GMC Registration
- Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent (JCPTGP/nMRCGP)
- Membership of a recognized defence union (MPS/MDU)
- Currently on a performers list, never removed for detrimental reasons
- DRCOG, DFFP/FFFP, DCH
- Clinical training and experience as a GP
- Evidence of recent self-directed learning
