Job Description

We are looking for one Triaging GP alongside a Salaried GP. We care for around 26,000 patients across St Leonards and Hastings. You'll work a structured clinical day with protected breaks, catch-up slots, dedicated admin time, supported by regular clinical supervision and a friendly MDT.
Your week at a glance- 6-8 Sessions per week.
- 15-minute appointments.
- Cap: 15 contacts per session.
- No on-call; home visits: Low.
- Protected CPD: 10% of weekly hours + 5 days study leave pro rata.
- 6 weeks AL + 8 BH (FTE).
- Indemnity included.
- BMA model contract.
- System: EMIS Web.
- MDT: ANPs, ACP's, Clinical Pharmacists, PAs, Paramedics, MSK FCP, MHP.
- Admin support: Dedicated document/admin team.
- Provide comprehensive, patient-centred GP care across acute, chronic and preventive needs.
- Consult in person or by telephone.
- Participate in clinical decision-making, triage, and referrals.
- Engage in quality improvement and clinical governance as part of our team ethos.
- Home visits as required.
- Care/Nursing home ward rounds with support from Enhanced Care Team.
- Review patient requests alongside the clinical record, medicines, alerts and recent contacts.
- Identify red flags and urgency risk, prioritising safely and escalating emergency care when required.
- Choose the safest step: written or telephone advice, self-care, Pharmacy First or community services, telephone or f2f assessment.
- Provide safety-netting and follow-up with accurate and defensible records in Rapid Health and EMIS Web.
- Work with Triage Admin, reception and clinicians, giving clear instructions for bookings, actions and patient comms.
- Contribute to audit, incident learning and pathway development to support safe and consistent triage decisions.
- Clinical admin & governance: results handling, correspondence, documentation, audit/QI, and practice meetings.
- Specialist area time: develop a focus aligned to service needs.
- Workload clarity: structured day with protected daily break, catch-ups and admin time.
- Development: regular supervision, appraisal and study time; inclusive employer with strong safeguarding culture.
