Safeguarding Officer (Maternity Leave Cover) - Stocklake Park School

Location: Aylesbury

Working closely with the Head of School as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), you will be a key member of the safeguarding team across our Federation, alongside a dedicated group of Deputy DSLs. Contract: Maternity Leave Cover, Temporary Contract

Working weeks: 42 weeks (term time, including INSET days, plus 3 weeks in the holidays)

About us

Stocklake Park School is part of the Vale Federation of Special Schools and is based on two sites, Stocklake Park main site and Harding House. We offer educational provision for students with complex learning difficulties, from 11 to 19 years of age. Our vision as a Federation is to provide a supportive but challenging multi professionals approach to the education of all the young people in our care, enabling them to achieve the greatest possible level of independence and inclusion.

To support and help oversee the safeguarding of pupils in Stocklake Park School, working alongside the Head of School as DSL, and the team of deputy DSLs across the federation. The successful candidate will be a first port of call for all safeguarding concerns and refer concerns on to appropriate agency where necessary. This role works alongside the Family Support Worker and signposts parents to sources of support, as well as liaising with social care and attending meetings where social care concerns are raised and followed up. This postholder also helps the Head of School ensure all safeguarding and child protection related training of staff is up to date and understood and may lead safeguarding training for others within the organisation.
