Ruby On Rails Software Engineer with Python (any React a bonus). 100% REMOTE

For the immediate term work is primarily Rails, React and Python, with anticipated increasing exposure to Java and/or Rust.

Deliverables

• Taking a lead role in a small team, channel your inner product owner to meet customer requirements sustainably, meeting time-critical deadlines when required.
• Ensure outputs are designed to be simple, maintainable, and scalable.
• Drive requirements and display ownership of large, complex projects or systems.
• Work with stakeholders across multiple projects and communicate consistently and proactively.
• Identify, drive and support broader engineering efforts that improve the codebase to the benefit of multiple teams
• Ownership of code quality and user experience. Drive code quality for projects and guide others in performing code reviews.
• Ensure code passes standards for cleanliness, reliability, and functionality.
• Produce technical documentation for system architecture, API specifications, support, and deployment procedures.
• Performance monitoring and observability tools for system reliability

Skills Required
Technical Skills:

• Significant professional polyglot experience, including at least two strongly typed languages: eg Java, Rust, C#
• Fearless of technologies, frameworks, and languages; eager to jump into any codebase
• Experience leveraging coding agents to reduce delivery time and maintain output quality
• Significant React Front End development experience
• Significant Ruby on Rails and Python experience
• Significant technical design experience - such as API contracts, messaging choreographies
• Database design and optimization (Postgres, MySQL, Redis)
