Start date: ASAP.
Duration: 3 months initially, options to extend / move into a perm role.
Location: Hoboken, Belgium.
Rotation: Monday-Friday.
Type: Freelance contract.
Department:
The transportation competence centre supports the strategic business partners with their logistics projects and provides advice on transport-related topics (e.g., on Incoterms). Its main fields of expertise are transport procurement, transport regulations (e.g., dangerous goods, load securing, shipments of materials classified as waste) and supporting with different types of supply chain-related projects. Our colleagues of the Trade Compliance department complete the full logistics scope by providing binding advice in the field of customs, export controls and sanctions.
The forwarding team is specialized in organizing seamless ocean, road and air transport, as well as providing warehousing solutions for all materials and for all incoming materials where contractually needs to take care of logistics. When organizing transports, the focus is on transporting the materials in the best possible way to our customers, making sure to adhere to all relevant transport regulations.
Project Description:
Within our forwarding team, we are looking for an enthusiastic Road Transport Expediter to oversee and organize transport logistics, primarily by road, with occasional air freight operations (approximately 5% of tasks).
primary tasks & responsibilities
• initiate and closely monitor road transport and air freight cases at various locations.
• Prepare and verify transport documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate transport and arrange storage or trans shipment with internal and external parties (customers, carriers, etc.).
• Track market developments and explore new transport options.
• Contribute to process improvements and suggest new optimization methods.
• Update procedures, manage master data in software, and generate reports & analyses.
• Ensure customs compliance, including document validation and regulatory adherence.
Technical profile requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics Management or Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word, SharePoint).
• Experience with transport software (e.g., SupplyStack) is a plus.
• Knowledge of Incoterms, transport & customs documents, regulations regarding hazardous goods and waste materials.
• Relevant experience in waste management processes and the chemical sector.
Non-Technical profile requirements:
• Flexible, customer-oriented, stress-resistant, and positively driven.
• Strong communication skills, able to professionally interact at all levels.
• Solution-driven, maintaining an overview while handling multiple cases.
Language proficiencies
• Fluent in Dutch and English (spoken & written).
• Knowledge of French and/or German is an advantage.

• Start Date: ASAP
• first contract of 3 months, extension possible
• position is also open for permanent hire
