Join us.This Revenue Accountant will be responsible for ensuring accurate accounting of revenue across various entities within the Itron organization. Reporting to a Revenue Controller, you will complete monthly and quarterly reporting requirements while ensuring SOX compliance. You will work closely with various departments within Itron including Sales, Service Delivery, Business Finance, and GBS. You will also be involved in ongoing process improvement initiatives across a global revenue team. Key Responsibilities: Ensure that revenue-related journals are posted within the required deadlines for the various global entities. Liaise with various GBS & FP&A teams Responsible for driving M/E and Q/E close, and ensuring that various activities and corporate deliverables are being performed within the required deadlines Maintain accurate revenue recognition models for assigned customers. Ensure accurate forecasting of ASC606 impacts in conjunction with FP&A teams Perform a critical review of revenue and cost project budgets to determine revenue recognition impact. Support evaluation of new customer contracts for ASC606 impacts Maintain processes and controls to ensure compliance with US GAAP and Itron policies. Liaise with auditors to complete group and statutory reporting Provide analytical revenue and unbilled receivable management reporting. Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations related to revenue recognition. Support process improvement initiatives and projects. Key Skills: Strong organizational and analytical skills required Detail-orientated, with a focus on a high volume of numeric data Ability to establish and develop effective relationships within and outside finance Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of reporting to high-level management Customer focused Proven team player Fluency in English, written and verbal Ability to work well in a fast-paced, target-driven environment Ability to understand and critically assess financial business processes Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint Ability to interpret and analyze revenue accounting standards and apply as required Willingness to take on additional projects and responsibilities as needed. Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance Qualified Accountant with a recognized accounting qualification 3 years of related accounting experience desired but not essential Experience in and understanding of revenue recognition accounting pronouncements Experience with Oracle is desired but not essential Experience in using Alteryx is useful We offer you: Purpose : Opportunity to create a more resourceful world by working on the 21st century's biggest challenges: managing water, energy, and gas.
