Job Description

We're looking for a Retail Team Member to welcome visitors to the National Trust York Shop to answer their questions and help them have a great experience. York Shop sits in the heart of the historic city of York, and is a shop that welcomes both locals and tourists from all over the world. We pride ourselves on giving a warm welcome to all who enter, offering advice and inspiration about our conservation charity and the products that have been inspired by our places.

Salary: £6,630 per annum pro rata (based on full-time equivalent of £24,862.50)

Contract Duration: Permanent

Working Hours: 520 hours per year.This role is based on annualised hours, where theamountof hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year.

Working Pattern: You will work 10 hours a week, split over two 5-hour shifts. Shift patterns will vary, but will mostly include 9:45 - 15:15 / 11:45 - 17:15 / 10:30 - 16:00.

As a member of the retail team, you'll be offering visitors help and advice with their shopping. You'll have high standards of presentation in the shop while providing excellent service to all customers.

You'll also be able to talk to them about how everything they buy helps to fund the work of the National Trust. Other duties may include arranging, receiving and unpacking deliveries, creating shop displays and working with others in the team to keep the shop floor clean and organised.
