Retail Store Manager

Location: Rayleigh - Salary: £27,882 - £32,749 per year. Full time (37.5 hrs/week). Contract: Permanent. Internally titled "Shop Manager". Reports to: Area Manager, Department: Trading.

Job responsibilities

• Guide, inspire and engage a team of paid staff and volunteers, including recruitment, retention and development.
• Take ownership of commercial running of the store: display & merchandising, stock management, maintaining shop standards, layout, sales and income.
• Provide excellent customer and supporter service; lead by example.
• Maximise profit through effective cost control and sales.
• Build relationships with the local community and Cancer Research UK colleagues.
• Organise and run creative fundraising events to achieve targets.
• Maintain compliance with health and safety, safeguarding, security, administration and HR policies.

Skills & experience required

• Experience managing and inspiring a diverse team.
• Comfort working within targets and motivating others to achieve them.
• Multi tasking ability in a lively environment.
• Strong customer service knowledge.
• Commercial awareness and knowledge of high street fashion retail.
• Adaptability and ability to work independently.
• Awareness of price, value and worth of items.
• Preferred: prior retail management experience.
• Eligibility to work in the UK. All candidates will be subject to a satisfactory basic DBS check.
