Job Description
Short Term Resourcing Advisor

Salary: £16.04 per hour. Contract Length: 3 months (peak demand).

Location: TfGM, 2 Piccadilly Place, Piccadilly, Manchester, M1 3BG.

Working Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Two days per week in the office - core day on Wednesday (additional presence expected in the first weeks).

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide effective resourcing support to managers in line with policy, processes and good practice.
  • Advise, coach and train managers on recruitment, selection and onboarding activities, and participate as an assessor when required.
  • Analyse resource plans, deliver and complete end to end recruitment processes for specific roles, and maintain candidate pipelines.
  • Design a proactive and efficient resource service, monitoring and challenging resourcing controls, and offering alternative solutions.
  • Use HR data and insights to evaluate and improve resourcing activities and propose process changes.
  • Support the development and evaluation of role profiles and job evaluations.
  • Contribute to policy development, drafting guidance documents in line with legislation and good practice.
  • Assist with People Plan activities, improvement initiatives and recruitment administration duties as required.
  • Maintain consistent communication with candidates, ensuring a positive experience and reflecting the Employer Brand.
  • Engage with external partners and diverse communities to increase representation and participation in the recruitment process.
Essential Experience (Level 2 includes Level 1)
  • Experience advising, coaching and training managers for resourcing, recruitment and onboarding.
  • Developing strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience preparing robust recruitment and selection materials to support fair and transparent processes.
  • Experience working within a unionised environment.
  • Understanding of good practice recruitment and selection, including policy interpretation and manager support.
  • Experience using electronic HR systems to generate data and insights for recruitment planning.
  • Client centred service experience with sensitivity to confidential materials.
  • Self motivation to deliver high quality work amid competing priorities.
  • Knowledge of employment law legislation and its practical application.
  • Proven ability to organise and execute tasks to a high standard, ensuring checks and authorisations by appropriate managers.
Essential Qualifications
  • Level A or equivalent work experience.
Desirable Experience
  • Experience working for a public sector organisation with an understanding of governance requirements.
Desirable Qualifications
  • CIPD qualification.
