This is a *Reading* Hybrid based role with an excellent immediate start within a Public Sector organisation working on *Managing and delivering People Development workstreams across the P3M function.*
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Resource Manager/People Manager to support AWE's Programme, Project and Portfolio Management (P3M) function. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to workforce capability, resource planning, professional development, and future talent programmes within a complex and highly regulated environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in assessing capability requirements, supporting resource allocation across projects, enhancing professional development frameworks, and driving people-focused initiatives that strengthen P3M capability across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and deliver People Development workstreams across the P3M function.
- Support day-to-day resource management activities, including workforce planning and resource allocation across projects and programmes.
- Assess future capability requirements using management information, stakeholder feedback and industry best practice.
- Support recruitment and resourcing activities across the P3M community.
- Develop and promote professional development opportunities, competency frameworks, mentoring and coaching initiatives.
- Enhance and maintain career pathways including Graduate, Undergraduate, Apprentice and Trainee programmes.
- Develop and maintain learning and training frameworks for P3M professionals.
- Engage with stakeholders across the business to identify development requirements and prioritise initiatives.
- Maintain and update SharePoint content relating to People Development workstreams.
- Collaborate with professional bodies and industry partners to ensure capability remains aligned with best practice.
- Lead, coach and develop team members where required.
- Promote high standards of safety, security, quality and team collaboration.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong background in Resource Management and Workforce Planning.
- Previous experience supporting recruitment, resourcing or talent management activities.
- Experience working within a P3M (Programme, Project and Portfolio Management) environment.
- Ability to engage and influence stakeholders across multiple disciplines.
- Experience developing people capability, learning programmes or professional development initiatives.
- Strong organisational, planning and communication skills.
- Experience working within large, complex organisations.
Desirable Experience
- Membership of the Association for Project Management (APM).
- Knowledge of professional development frameworks and competency assessments.
- Experience working within PMO, Programme Controls or Enterprise PMO functions.
- Previous experience in government, defence, nuclear or highly regulated environments.
