Residential Property Lawyer

A well-established and growing law firm in Buckinghamshire is seeking an experienced Residential Property Lawyer to join its friendly and professional property team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated conveyancer looking to take ownership of a varied caseload while developing their career within a modern, forward thinking practice.

The Role

You will manage a full residential conveyancing caseload from instruction through to post completion, handling matters including:

  • Freehold and leasehold sales and purchases
  • Remortgages
  • New build purchases
  • Shared ownership transactions
  • Transfers of equity
  • First registrations
  • Assents
  • Help to Buy loan redemptions

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing files from opening through to closure
  • Client onboarding and compliance procedures
  • Preparing client care documentation
  • Drafting contract packs
  • Handling pre contract enquiries
  • Reviewing title documentation and searches

    Reporting to clients on title, searches and mortgage matters

    Exchanging contracts and progressing transactions to completion

    Managing post completion registrations and formalities

    Liaising with clients, agents, lenders, management companies and other third parties

    Maintaining accurate file management through a case management system

    Ensuring compliance with regulatory, risk management and internal procedures

    The successful candidate will also be encouraged to contribute to business development activities and help grow their own caseload.

    About You

    Applicants should ideally have:

    • 2-5 years' PQE in Residential Conveyancing (or equivalent experience)
    • Experience managing a varied caseload with minimal supervision
    • Strong client care and communication skills
    • Experience using case management systems
    • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
    • Confidence meeting and advising clients face to face
    • A proactive approach to professional development and business growth
